When running an Individual Effectiveness (360°) survey, administrators and coaches have access to the survey's Insights report through the side menu bar.
What is the Individual Effectiveness Insight report?
The Insight report aggregates data across all 360° processes in a survey, so companies can get a better understanding of common strengths and opportunities for improvement among their employees. Coaches have more focused view of this report showing data only for the people they are coaching on that survey.
For example, if your survey includes a multi-select question about strengths, the Insight report will include an aggregate view of strengths:
In this example, the attribute "APPROACHABLE" was the top strength among employees in the survey: It was selected for 8 employees as one of their top strengths, which are 39% of all employees included in this report.
How can I use this report?
This report can help you determine what Learning & Development activities to invest in. If "TECHNICAL COMPETENCE" was selected as one of the common top opportunities, the company might want to consider investing in more technical training or recruiting more experienced personnel.
The report could also be used to get a broader view of how constructive the given feedback is, and get a feel of the tone used by employees when providing feedback - is it positive, angry, etc., by viewing comments and open text responses. Survey administrators and coaches can use this to track the effectiveness of the surveying process, and educate employees on how to provide feedback. You can find some tips here.
1. Which 360 processes are included in the report?
At the top of the report you'll find a count of employees included in the report:
This count means that the report includes 12 employees who already started receiving feedback in the survey, out of the 47 employees that have 360° processes in survey. As more employees start receiving feedback, results will get more accurate (and will be updated in real time).
2. Can I filter this report to specific parts of the company?
You sure can! You can see strengths and opportunities filtered by any demographics included in your employee data, such as location, department or team. This way you can make targeted decisions about Learning & Development activities for different parts of your company.
3. What does a selection count and percentage mean?
Aggregate views of multi-select questions show a count of the number of employees a selection was selected for. In the example below, the selection "APPROACHABLE" was selected for 8 employees. Note that in most cases, the sum of all counts will be higher than the number of employees included in the survey. The reason is that reviewers can usually select more than one attribute per employee. In the example below, reviewers can select up to 5 attributes per employee.
The percentage of a selection represents the number of employees a selection was selected for, out of the total employees included in the survey. In this example,"APPROACHABLE" was selected for 8 employees out of the total 21 employees included in the survey, which make 39% percent.
4. Can I share this report with employees?
Comments and open text questions sometimes include identifiable information of the reviewer or the reviewed employee. We do not currently offer sharing functionality in this report, and if you choose to share it we advise you to do so with care.
5. What does the Responses count and percentage per question mean?
Employees usually have several reviewers providing feedback for them. For example, if an employee has asked 5 people to provide feedback for her and assuming all five have submitted their responses to all questions, we expect to have a response count of "100% (5 out of 5 responses)", or "n=5", per question. Sometimes reviewers skip questions or choose not to provide feedback at all, therefore this figure is different from question to question. In our example, we'll see "80% (4 out of 5 responses)", or "n=4", if 5 people have submitted their feedback, but only 4 answered that specific question.
