Note: An EU version of our Slack app for our EU Data Center customers is available for Engagement and will soon be available for Performance.

Get started using the app

To get started, just head over to Shortcuts in Slack to link up your Culture Amp account. This lets you get notifications from Culture Amp. If your company uses Culture Amp Performance, you can also give and request feedback from your colleagues right in Slack.

For Performance Users:

  1. Click the + symbol or lightning bolt icon.

  2. Choose Give Feedback or Request Feedback, and that will start the sign-in process.

  3. Then, you'll be asked to connect your Culture Amp account.

  4. Just follow the steps to sign in to your Culture Amp account.

  5. Once you're signed in, your Culture Amp account is connected!

If you don't see the Culture Amp app in your Slack app list, ask your Slack Admin to connect Culture Amp with Slack first.

What happens to the information you enter?

  • The recipient will receive a notification in Slack containing your feedback.

  • If your account has manager feedback sharing enabled and you choose 'Share with their manager' before sending the feedback, it will also be shared with the person's manager in Slack.

  • Your feedback will also be added to the recipient’s profile in Culture Amp. It will be visible to you, the recipient, and, if shared, their manager.

Shoutouts

If you want to give a shoutout but the Culture Amp app isn't in the channel, simply add it by typing "@cultureamp" and hitting Send.

You can also add the Culture Amp app to a channel by selecting Add an App from the Integrations tab in the channel's details.

To give a shoutout, include the word "shoutout" in your message, like this: “shoutout @teammate for the awesome thing they did.” Remember to mention one or more colleagues in your message! Shoutouts aren't a slash command, so no need to start your message with a "/" or the word "shoutout"."

Additionally, you can trigger a shoutout by adding a # in front of the word "shoutout," or including . or , after it.

FAQs

Is it possible to edit a previous Slack message to include the word "shoutout" and give recognition to a colleague?

Editing a previous Slack message won't retroactively trigger a shoutout. The shoutout feature typically relies on specific triggers or commands within Slack, so editing a message after the fact wouldn't activate it.
